Kazunori Iwata received the BE and ME degrees from the Nagoya Institute of Technology, Aichi, Japan, in 2000 and 2002, respectively,
and the PhD degree in informatics from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, in 2005.
He was a JSPS Research Fellow from April 2002 to March 2005.
He has been with Hiroshima City University, Hiroshima, Japan, since April 2005.
His research interests include machine learning, pattern recognition, and information theory.
He was an Associate Editor of the IEICE Transactions on Information and Systems from July 2013 to June 2017.
He is a member of the IEEE and IEICE.
